How is long does the battery last?
At this point, I can not speak from experience, but according to the specs sheet, the Trimble TSC5 Data Controller will last up to 15 hours using internal GPS and backlit. This compares to the TSC3 survey controller pretty good which specs say that it lasts up to 18 hours with GNSS RTK usage. I know this is not apples to apples. But it is promising that it should last a full day of busy surveying.
How about the weight of the TSC5 controller?
Next to the battery life, this is exciting news the Trimble TSC5 Data Controller actually weighs a little less than TSC3. Standing at 934g (2.06 lb), the TSC5 controller is 106g lighter than TSC3. This can be the TSC which we were looking for as a worthy replacement to TSC3.
